K Michelle IRS Tax Lien: 'Love & Hip Hop Atlanta' Star Hit With $52,000 Tax Lien Ahead 'Love & Hip-Hop New York' Season 4 Debut (VIDEO)
K Michelle, who is known for slapping her co-stars on her hit reality show has received a slap of her own-the VSOP singer was hit with a $52,000 tax lien from the IRS.
TMZ reported on Tuesday that the Love & HipHop Atlanta star owes the IRS a total of $52,415.09 for not paying taxes in the amount of $47,710.46 in 2008 and $4,704.63 in 2009.
In 2008, she signed a record deal with Jive Records and in 2009 released the single Fakin It with Missy Elliott.
This year, she released her debut album Rebellious Soul and garnered major success with it. It entered at no. 2 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top R &B Albums charts because it sold an impressive 72,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen Soundcan.
It was considered the highest debut on the Billboard 200 for a female R &B singer since March 2001. She previously released only 5 mix tapes between 2010 and 2013 and worked with R. Kelly. She appeared on his 2010 album Love Letter.
K Michelle gained notoriety as a feisty cast member on the first two seasons of Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta. She is currently filming season 4 of Love & Hip-Hop New York and her own solo reality show will follow. She said in a recent interview that music is her top priority and the only reason she appeared on areality show was to get a record deal.
"The only reason I did [the show] was to get a record deal, which I got after the first season [with Warner Music Group], and promote my music," she told Billboard.

"She's doing her own show on VH1 which is not going to be anything like Love & Hip-Hop. It's going to be about K. and her musical friends and their adventures," her music manager Jeff Robinson told Billboard.
