Tennis pro Andy Murray tweeted a picture of himself in the hospital with his thumbs up after having a minor surgery on his troublesome back.

The 26-year-old tweeted, "Thanks for all the well wishes, means a lot to me..."

Tweeting to fans, Murray claimed the first thing he said when he came round from the operation was: "Did I win?"

The tennis player revealed that he had a disc problem in his lower back. The injury flared up in May, forcing him to withdraw from the French Open.

He is set to miss this year's remaining tour events, including November's World Tour Finals in London.

On Sept. 24, Murray tweeted again thanking everyone at the hospital for the great care he has received.

"After spending 2 days in hospital you realise and appreciate how amazing a job carers, nurses, doctors etc do in hospitals all over the world looking after people who are in need.. Thanks to everyone at hospital for looking after me and putting me back together again," he wrote.

Providing all has run smoothly with his surgery, Murray should be back on court and targeting the Australian Open in January.
