'Need for Speed' Film Trailer; 'Breaking Bad's' Aaron Paul Plays Leading Man in Film Adaptation of the Video Game [VIDEO]
The trailer for the film adaptation of Need for Speed, which stars Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, has been released.
The action film was adapted from the popular series of the Electronic Arts video game by writers George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) and Academy Award nominee John Gatins (Dreamer, Coach Carter). Need for Speed has been directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor).
Paul plays Tobey Marshall, a street car racer and who has recently been released from prison for a crime he did not commit. Once out of prison, Marshall is set for a cross-country race. He is also out to avenge his wrongful incrimination. Imogen Poots will play Julie Bonet, Marshall's love interest in the film.
The trailer, which features a bunch of speedy car chases, races, explosions, and cop encounters, focuses on Paul -- with a few glimpses of Poots -- as his voice-over teases the plot of the film:
"They took everything from me. I did not fear for you are with me. All those who defied me shall be ashamed and disgraced, those who wage war against me shall perish. I will find strength and guidance, and I will triumph."
The film also stars Dominic Cooper, Scott Mescudi, Ramon Rodriguez, Michael Keaton, Rami Malek, Dakota Johnson and Harrison Gilbertson.
In a recent interview on Conan O'Brien's late night talk show, Paul jokingly suggested that everybody was going to die in the finale of Breaking Bad.
The show won the Emmy Award for outstanding drama series on Sept. 21.
The finale of Breaking Bad airs this Sunday, Sept. 29.
Need for Speed is scheduled to release on Mar. 14 2014.
