The highly anticipated iPhone 6 release date will reportedly be in March of 2014, and the smartphone is said to feature an A8 processor and wraparound screen display.

According to International Business Times, Apple will be reducing its dependency on Samsung, which currently is its supplier.

The company will be shifting its focus from Samsung to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (TSMC), considered the world's largest independent semiconductor manufacturer, stated Android Authority.

The iPhone 6 is said to have a larger display screen. Apple's current smartphones don't come equipped with it.

The smartphone will also include a wraparound AMOLED screen that could be strikingly similar to that of the iPod Nano 4 and can be unfolded.

The part would be aided with a hinge that's "a hardware device that mechanically joins or affixes two or more objects together," judging by Patently Apple.

In terms of a timetable, the iPhone 6's release date is said to be occurring in the first quarter of 2014 between the months of January to March, stated IBT.

The device's late roll out is said to be due to incomplete specs and features that are on the iPhone 5S.

Rumors are currently circulating that the iPhone 6 will be Apple's version of a phablet and it would compete against Samsung's Galaxy Note series.
