However, Tampa Bay has managed to lose twice while facing the Red Sox in the first three games of the series. Last night provided the Florida team with their first win of the series. The Rays are currently rated 11th for runs and 12th for batting average.
The Red Sox may have only won five of their last 10 games but they are winning where it counts. During Game 1 of the AL Series, the Massachusetts team beat the Rays to the tune of 12-2 while Game 2 saw the Red Sox win once more with a score of 7-4. However, the Boston lost Game 3 with a score of 5-4. Currently, Boston is ranked 1st for runs and 2nd for batting average.
Taking the mound tonight for the Red Sox is Jay Peavy who has 12 wins and five losses to his name during the 2013 season, according to ESPN. Jeremy Hellickson will be pitching for the Rays and has won 12 games and lost 10 this year.
