'X Factor' Final Four Boys Selected, Tim Olstad In Jeopardy VIDEO
The X Factor brought the drama during the Boys four-chair challenge.
With Paulina Rubio calling the shots, the young contestants did not have an easy night. Already faced with the added stress of the new elimination technique, the boys gave it their all only to be given false hope throughout the evening.
Pauline whittled down her 12 singers until there were only four left - Carlito Rivera, Carlos Guevera, Josh Levi and Tim Olstad.
The first performance of the night came from Al Calderon. Although several of the judges seemed unimpressed by the 19-year-old's rendition of Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe, Calderon became the first person to claim a seat.
Isaiah Alston and Issac Tauaefa were sent home before Pauline chose her next chair candidate. Carlos Guevara, a Tourette sufferer, received good reviews from most of the judges' panel and won his way to a spot on stage with Bill Withers Ain't No Sunshine.
The One Direction obsessed Stone Martin snagged the third seat while Chase Goehring was granted the fourth. Only half way through the competitors and Pauline had already used up her seats, effectively turning up the heat on the next few performers.
Tim Olstad soon took Stone Martin's place while Chase Goehring was swapped for Carlito Olivera. However, Pauline's next decision to swap Olstad for Timmy Thames received a loud round of booing from the audience.
The judge quickly reversed her change and dropped Calderon instead. Following Josh Levi's performance, Pauline solidified her team by losing Thames in favor of Levi.
