Pokémon X and Y Release Date: Confirmed Mega Evolutions, Free Level 10 Torchic VIDEO
The Nintendo release of Pokémon X and Y is only a few days away and gamers are clamoring to get a look at the new mega evolutions.
Due to a few early sales that took place in Italy and Canada, a multitude of new mega evolutions have leaked across the Internet, leaving potential buyers wondering which are real and which are merely the wishful imaginings of Pokémon fans.
A new type of evolution only found in the Kalos region, the Mega Evolution effects pocket monsters and reportedly requires users to be holding a mega stone, according to the International Digital Times.
Evolutions announced by Mega Charizard X, which changes from a Fire-Flying type to a Fire-Dragon type and has Tough Claws ability; Mega Charizard Y, which gains Drought ability; Mega Mewtwo X, which becomes a Psychic-Flying type with Steadfast ability; and Mega Mewtwo Y, which gains Insomnia ability.
As for mega evolutions that keep continuity between both the X and Y versions, there is Mega Garchomp with Sand Force ability, Mega Venusaur with Thick Fat ability, Mega Blastoise with Mega Launcher ability, Mega Absol with Magic Bounce, Mega Mawile with Huge Power, Mega Lucario with Adaptability, Mega Blaziken with Speed Boost, and Mega Ampharos which changes to an Electric-Dragon type and gains Mold Breaker ability.
In addition to these new forms, players of both X and Y will be able to download the level 10 Torchic for free from Oct. 12 through Jan. 15, according to Digital Spy.
Pokémon X and Y will be released worldwide on Oct. 12.
