Katy Perry Covergirl PHOTO, Twitter Reveal; Follows in the Footsteps of Sofia Vergara, Drew Barrymore & More
Katy Perry tweeted Wednesday that she had "beautiful news to share" and then went on to reveal on the social media website that she is the new face of CoverGirl.
"Today is my 1st day as a @CoverGirl!" she wrote, sharing her first ad as spokesmodel for the brand.
The image shows the black-haired Roar singer in CoverGirl Clean Glow Blush in Roses and CoverGirl LipPerfection in Euphoria. She stares into the camera with her mouth slightly open and her hands are held up to her face, showing off her jewelry.
There is a light flare effect creating a glow around the singer, perhaps hinting to what she meant when she tweeted, "See what happens when you let the light in?"
Perry, 28, has an eyelash line and several fragrances. Her full campaign with CoverGirl will debut in spring 2014. Past CoverGirls include Pink, Ellen DeGeneres, Drew Barrymore, Sofía Vergara, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Queen Latifah.
Her album, Prism, debuts Oct. 22 but is currently streaming 90 second snippets on iTunes.
