Apple is continuing to scale back production of one of its newer iPhone models released just last month.

The iPhone 5C will have production scaled back by 35 percent, according to CNET, while production for the 5S will be ramped up an additional 75 percent to catch up with the demand for the device.

Both devices went on sale last month, but after the opening weekend sales, interest and demand for the 5C has waned, and it is has been readily available in most stores. The 5S however has been in high demand, and there are often longer wait times to receive the new device.

The 5C builds off of last year's iPhone 5, by adding a colorful plastic back (options include green, blue, yellow, a pinkish-red, and white). The phone also uses a slightly different cellular antenna than last year's model.

The 5S however, is the company's newest phone with improvements and differences, including a 64-bit processor, new camera, dual-LED flash, and the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the home button. It too comes in different color options from the previously standard black and white, with available devices in silver, gray and gold.

This is not the first time Apple had reportedly announced it would cut down on production of the 5C. Last week saw news that the company was likely going to cur production by half, while other claims had the company trimming orders by one-third.

The news come as new rumors suggest that Apple is preparing to release the iPhone 6 in the early part of 2014. Tech analysts believe the new version of the smartphone could arrive in the second or third quarter of 2014, according to thefullsignal.com.
