NHL fans can live stream tonight's faceoff between the San Jose Sharks and the Detroit Red Wings free online.

The two teams will take the ice at 7:30 p.m. ET from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.

Entering their ninth game of the season, the San Jose Sharks currently have 7-0-1 record. The Californian team started off the season with a victory over the Vancouver Canucks and continued to win in their subsequent games. Without ever entering overtime, the Sharks have defeated the Phoenix Coyotes, the New York Rangers, the Ottawa Senators, the St. Louis Blues, and the Vancouver Canucks for a second time. However, the Sharks lost in a shootout to the Dallas Stars last Thursday before going on to beat the Calgary Flames on Saturday. San Jose is currently in first place for the Pacific Division with 15 points, according to ESPN.

Coming into tonight's game, the Detroit Red Wings are 6-3-0. Starting the season off with two consecutive wins, first over the Buffalo Sabers and then in overtime over the Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit had a strong opening. The Red Wings then fell to the Boston Bruins and the Phoenix Coyotes before picking up four victories courtesy of the Philadelphia Flyers, the Boston Bruins, the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Colorado Avalanche. Saturday's game against the Phoenix Coyotes resulted in a loss for the Michigan team. Detroit is currently in first place for the Atlantic Division with 12 points, according to ESPN.
