A 70 year old woman has been making headlines after she finally declared that she wants to lose her virginity. Pam Shaw, who is also known as her stage name "The Sexational Pam" says she is ready to do it with the right man.


The British woman is currently single and has never been married before. She believes in celibacy before marriage, and that anything out of marriage is out of the question. She still says the lucky man would have to marry her first - for anything to happen between them.

She told The Sun that she hopes to bag a "tall, dark and handsome" millionaire, saying she is ready to give marriage a go and go to bed with a man. "You are never too old for anything," she said. "Just look at Joan Collins."


Shaw has been a cabaret dancer nearly her whole life and lived with her mother Lilian in Wigan, Greater Manchester, until she passed away in1995. Because of her demanding career, she said she did not have time to focus on men and marriage. "I worked so much that sometimes I'd only have an hour's sleep each night. I wouldn't entertain the idea of sex outside marriage - and marriage meant giving up on my dreams."


"Now's the time," she said. "I'm ready to take the plunge for the right bloke."

Shaw won TV talent show Opportunity Knocks in the 1960s, hung out with comedian Ken Dodd and singer Englebert Humperdinck, performed in Las Vegas and even shared a dressing room with The Voice judge Tom Jones.

She was once engaged 1976 to an oil rig worker in Blackpool but she broke it off after realizing she did not fancy him.

"The only man I thought I could go to bed with was a guy who came to watch me every night when I sang in Malta. But I wasn't prepared to settle down ..so it wasn't to be."

If anything, the story is reminiscent of the movie, "40-year-old Virgin" movie, starring Steve Carell, who is pressured to "do the deed" from his friends.
