The 12-year-old suspect who fatally gunned down and injured two classmates on Monday allegedly brought the firearm from his residence and tried to enter the school building prior to shooting himself.

Jose Cazares, a middle school student, stated on the TODAY show that a classmate tried to talk the shooter out of firing prior to the gunshots at Sparks Middle School, which is located just outside Reno, Nev.

"He didn't say nothing. He just kept on shooting them," he said.

The suspect had arrived at the school at roughly 7:15 a.m. local time on the morning of Oct. 21, first shooting a student in the shoulder, and then firiing at math teacher Michael Landsberry on the basketball court. He kept walking and shot another student before fatally shooting himself in the head, the police stated.

The two injured students were taken to a nearby hospital, said Sparks Deputy Chief Tom Miller at a Monday news conference.

Currently, there aren't any plans to identify the boy publically. Miller stated that the decision on whether to press charges against the boy's parents will be determined by the local prosecutor if the weapon is found to have come from their home.

Raw video footage from the scene can be watched below.
