NCIS: Los Angeles' Deeks and Kensi have been walking on eggshells as of late and fans are beginning to wonder if the partners' relationship has stalled.

Series creator Shane Brennan recently assured viewers that the Densi plot will be playing out in a major way as season 5 progresses.

After three seasons of building sexual tension, Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) caught Kensi (Daniela Ruah) off guard during last spring's finale, suddenly kissing her in the midst of an investigation. However, Deeks was then dropped into a highly traumatic experience and the pair has yet to figure out where they now stand in relation to one another.

"The two of them are circling each other and it becomes a problem," Brennan explained to TV Fanatic. "This season while we celebrate the 100th episode and we lift another veil off Callen's eyes to reveal his past, it really is kind of the Kensi-Deeks season because of what happened with the kiss, what happened with his trauma, how that affects him plays out into their relationship."

Episode 10 and episode 18 have been marked as major turning points for the Densi storyline, although it is still unclear as to why. According to TV Line, while the duo are recovering from the "shocking moment" in episode 10, another "big, big, big shock" will be thrown their way in episode 18.

However, Brennan is adamant that their dynamic will not be affected by Ruah's real-life pregnancy.

"We won't be addressing that. Dani's pregnant. Kensi's not. Through the magic of television hopefully no one will notice she's pregnant," Brennan said, according to TV Fanatic. "There's a series of steps throughout this season that crank up the relationship further and further and further. There's a pretty powerful revelation towards the end of the season that forces them to take stock."

A 7-epsiode Afghanistan story arc may help to conceal Ruah's growing baby bump while perhaps also explaining why the partners will be split up by midseason.
