Ohio State Marching Band Hollywood Movies Tribute VIDEO; Performance Goes Viral
The Ohio State University marching band is making it continuously harder for other school bands to match their amazing performances.
The ensemble made headlines last week when they performed a Michael Jackson tribute during the halftime show for a game against the University of Iowa, which saw the entire band moonwalk in perfect synchronization.
They've now done it again.
During a game on Saturday, Oct. 26, where the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions 63-14, the marching band performed another tribute but this time to Hollywood's blockbuster films. A video of the performance posted to Youtube has already gotten nearly 2.5 million hits.
Movies and icons who made the cut for the tribute includ Superman, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Some of the band's best moves during the nearly 9-minute tribute included forming the S that Superman dons on his costume. They performed music associated with the hero and then imitated him flying and pushing a falling building back into place. They also interloced rings to represent the ring Frodo took on the epic journey through all three Lord of the Rings films; formed and HP for Harry potter's initials before having him fly across the field on his broom, and marched into the shape of a giant Tyrannosaurus Res for Jurassic Park.
The band finished off the tribute by blasting fireworks and forming dueling ships to commemorate Pirates.
The band's next sure-to-go-viral performance is take place ater this month when the football team faces off against Indiana.
