'Anchorman 2' Spoilers: Brick Tamland Finds a Love Interest in Two Version Sequel? [VIDEO]
After months of waiting, Paramount released a new Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues trailer.
Empire listed potential spoilers for the new comedy, which is a sequel to the 2004 film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) reports on a new drug called crack. Ron Burgundy declares the drug is "just refreshing," after an in-studio demonstration.
Harrison Ford will have a few scenes in this movie playing an anchorman that dislikes Burgundy.
Christina Applegate will be returning as Ron's wife and co-anchor, Veronica Corningstone. After she conducts a high-profile interview, Ron becomes jealous of his wife. The two split and Corningstone soon becomes involved with a character named Gary (Greg Kinnear). The newly single Burgundy then enters a relationship with Linda Jackson (Meagan Good), his new African-American boss.
Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) is back as he encounters trouble with new 80's technology, a green screen weather map. It also looks like Tamland will find a love interest in the sequel.
An intriguing piece of news comes from director, Adam McKay, who told the publication he wants to release two versions of the film.
"We did so much improv on this one that we can literally replace every single joke in the movie and put in alternate scenes and alternate improv runs. I think the editor's working on it right now, with 250 new jokes. I think it would be really funny to put it in theatres for midnight showings. I know that I personally, if I loved a movie and someone told me that, like if Airplane had been released with all-new jokes, I'd see it in a second."
If a concept like this comes to fruition, it would certainly revolutionize the movie industry.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is scheduled to be released on Dec. 20.
