Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta' Star K Michelle Talks Lance Stephenson Split & 'Love & Hip-Hop New York' Season 4 (VIDEO)
K Michelle opened up for the first time about her recent breakup with NBA player Lance Stephenson.
The reality star and singer initially hinted that his infidelity was the reason for the split, but in a new interview she admitted that she was partially at fault.
"He's cool, he's a sweetheart," she said on The Skorpion Show of Stephenson, a shooting guard for the Indiana Pacers. "When I have mental issues going on - I'm talking about me - its very hard to get into a new relationship."
She said she also believes the age difference was a contributing factor that led to their breakup.
"There was a big age gap in that situation and I'm just a handful," the 27-year-old said. "I know I'm a lot and to ask a 23-year-old to understand this job...and being 23 and trying to date somebody you never dated, an artist or things like that. Then you're in the NBA, you want to sling d-ck and be 23, and I'm not having it."
Michelle revealed she split from the NBA star earlier this month on Twitter.
"I'm single. I'll explain later. I have to do what's best for me," she tweeted before she responded to comments from followers with a message explaining the reason for the split.
Michelle went public with the relationship on July 24 while appearing on The Wendy Williams Show. In a later interview with Power 99's The Rise N' Grind Morning Show, she shared how the former couple met.
The singer said while watching the 2013 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs game, she noticed that Stephenson was dominating her ex-boyfriend J. R. Smith, who plays for the New York Knicks. They began talking in June after they followed each other on multiple social media networks.
A new episode of VH1's Love & Hip-Hop New York season 4 will premiere on Monday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. EST.
