After losing to the Phoenix Coyotes in the first match of the year, the Rangers picked up their first victory against the Los Angeles Kings. The New York Rangers then proceeded to fall before the San Jose Sharks, the Anaheim Ducks, the St. Louis Blues, the New Jersey Devils, the Montreal Canadiens, and the Philadelphia Flyers. Despite skating to victory against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, the Rangers are currently in seventh for the Metropolitan Division with six points, according to ESPN.
