The new television series Dracula made its debut Oct. 25, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the title character as well as Vlad Tepes and Alexander Grayson.

The multi-faceted actor recently talked to E! Online about the future of his three roles.

"Vlad Tepes and Alexander Grayson exist," he said. "Vlad Tepes is the core character, Alexander Grayson is the facade he's using for the world of commerce [and] Dracula is the monster."

Viewers have been cheering for the anti-hero in recent years, but Rhys Meyers thinks this will not be the case for the new NBC series.

"(Tepes) is no hero. What he does is pretty diabolical," the actor said. "Harker (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) is the hero of the piece, not Vlad Tepes."

He thinks viewers will use their imagination and be drawn to these characters by relating to what they experience on-screen.

"I think revenge, pain, love and loss are universal themes," he explained. "It's extraordinary how setting something in a historical basis, can make people turn on their imaginations."

The character Lucy Westenra (Katie McGrath) did not play a huge role in the debut episode, but that will change, according to ArsenalClip.

"As time goes on, you begin to discover that everything that you see on the surface has no relation to what's going on underneath her," the actress said. "She is not your usual society girl. She has a much darker center and a much greater secret as the episodes go on."

It will be interesting to see if Westenra's fate differs from Bram Stoker's novel.

Dracula airs Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest info on this series.
