LAX Shooting Motive: 'Mad Men' Was Filming at Nearby Terminal, Suspect Carrying Note w/ Possible Motive
Mad Men actors and crew members stopped their filming at the Los Angeles International Airport after a gunman opened fire at Terminal 3 Friday morning.
Actor Dustin Woods, who was with his co-stars and film crew at the American Airlines Terminal 4 when they were forced to evacuate, tweeted updates to his fans that were deleted shortly after.
"We are filming at LAX. Locked down. Evacuating!" followed by "Police K-9 unit going through AA arrival terminal right now. Should be getting the all clear shortly."
He kept fans updated with one last tweet and wrote, "We got the ok to leave but Police have not given the all clear."
Though the tweets were taken down, a rep for AMC did confirm they were taping at the airport but did not give much more details than that.
The shooting occurred around 9:20AM Friday when the suspect, Paul Ciancia, 23, shot an assault rifle in the airport, killing a Travel Authority System (TSA) worker, 39-year-old Gerardo Hernandez, and injuring at least two others, including another TSA agent and a California high school teacher who was shot in the leg.Hernandez is the first TSA agent to be killed on the job. Authorities said the suspect was also carrying a hand-written note about one page long that revealed he was going after TSA agents and police officers. He called himself a "pissed off patriot" angry with the former Homeland Security Secretary Jjanet Napolitano. He's said to be int he hospital suffering from gunshot wounds inflicted by police.
