The case of a missing West Palm Beach Florida women found dead took a turn Monday after her ex-husband, whom police were about to charge with her murder, was also found dead.

Dr. Albert Lambert, a suspect in the murder of his ex-wife Kimberly Lindsay, was found dead in his home by his sister and her boyfriend. Police found the relatives trying to remove Lambert's corpse from his home when they arrived to charge him in the case of Lindsay's death, according to The Daily Mail. Lindsay's body was found in a sugar cane field on Halloween, Oct. 31.

Lambert reportedly died of an overdose. He was noted as a person of interest when his ex-wife's body was found four days after she was reported missing. Lindsay's body was discovered without a head of fingerprints, both of which were slashed off and have yet to be recovered.

"The bottom line is we were going to charge him with first-degree murder, no doubt," Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said at a news conference Sunday before Lambert's body was also discovered.

The case opened when Linday's co-workers at a West Palm beach school, where she was a nurse, reported her missing on Oct. 27. A four-county search in Florida took place before her body was discovered. A cause of death has not been officially released, but the probable cause affadvait issued for Lambert's arrest indicated a bullet was found in Lindsay's chest.

Police believe that the former couple engaged in a violent confrontation at Lindsey's home, where Lambert allegedly killed her and then discarded the body. The two were engaged in a heated custody battle following their February 2013 divorce.

They had three daughters together: Sarah, 20, Sophia, 18 and Savannah, 16. There is no word yet on who will gain custody of their youngest daughter now that both parents are dead.
