Entering their 16th game of the season, the Minnesota Wild has a 8-4-3 record. The Wild kicked off the season with a string of losses to the Los Angeles Kings, the Anaheim Ducks, and the Nashville Predators before skating to victory against the Winnipeg Jets, the Dallas Stars, and the Buffalo Sabres. After a three game losing streak, the Wild got back into the zone and defeated the Montreal Canadiens and the New Jersey Devils over the weekend. The Wild are currently in third place for the Central Division with 19 points, according to ESPN.
Coming into tonight's game, the Calgary Flames have a 6-6-2 record. The Canadian team started off the season with a defeat at the hands of the Washington Capitals, but soon scored their first win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Since then, the Flames have lost to the Vancouver Canucks, the Anaheim Ducks, the San Jose Sharks, the Dallas Stars, and the Phoenix Coyotes. Although the Flames defeated the Washington Capitals last week, Calgary lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings before skating to victory against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. The Flames are in sixth place for the Pacific Division with 14 points, according to ESPN.
