The D.C. team started off the season with a loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, but soon scored their first win in a shootout with the Calgary Flames. Recently, the Capitals defeated the Philadelphia Flyers, the Florida Panthers, and the New York Islanders to put them in second place for the Metropolitan Division with 16 points, according to ESPN.
