While the team has managed to pull in wins against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Washington Capitals, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the New York Islanders, they have suffered defeats at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Los Angeles Kings, the Phoenix Coyotes, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Minnesota Wild, the Colorado Avalanche, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the New York Rangers. The Hurricanes are currently in fifth place for the Metropolitan Division with 13 points, according to ESPN.
