Kandi Burruss revealed the real reason her wedding plans to fiance Todd Tucker have been delayed.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star said the rift between her mother and future husband began thanks to daytime talk show host Wendy Williams.

"I can tell you when it started," Burruss told ABC News Radio. "Last year when Wendy Williams was commenting on our show every week and she was like, '[Tucker's] an opportunist. I think he's an opportunist.' Next thing I know, my momma comes back and is like, 'Wendy said that he was an opportunist.'"

The extended trailer for season 6 released recently by Bravo, includes a scene where Tucker refuses to sign a prenuptial agreement. After Burruss' mother asks him if he is willing to sign the agreement, he replies, "I'm not gonna sign anything!"

"I think he's an opportunist," Mama Joyce is seen telling to Burrus' co-star Phaedra Parks, a famed attorney who represents her.

Tucker proposed to Burruss on Jan. 1. The couple shared the news in an interview with Us magazine and posed for a photo in which Burruss, 36, stood in front of her fiancée sporting a two-carat diamond ring. Burruss said she was "totally surprised" but "so excited" because she always thought she would never get married.

Burruss shared why she is in love with the former television show production assistant.

"I just love everything about him," Burruss shared. "He's very smart. He's very intelligent. He's a leader. He's not the type that's going to try and tell me what to do, but he's great at helping guide me in a way. And I think that I need a man that's just as strong so he can deal with me because...I can be a little strong."

As for their wedding plans, she confessed she is unsure how to move forward because her mother is not on board.

"I haven't decided yet if I want something that's small and just us or if we wanted to do something bigger and invite people," she said. :What was stopping me from even planning is the fact that my mom [Joyce Jones] is not being supportive."

"It's like, okay, do I really want to have a wedding and my mom may not show up or if she does show up she's going to be mean and negative? You know, you don't want the bad energy either."

Despite the drama, Burruss and Tucker recently co-produced a theatrical play titled, A Mother's Love, which ran for a brief time in Atlanta. The cast features Burruss, Eddie Levert, Shirley Murdock, D. Woods, 112's Q Parker and Chandra Currelly.
