Hollywood couple Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie split up exactly one year ago this week, but even apart, they stay together for son Luca.

Yahoo Celebrity reported on Friday that it has been one year since Duff and Comrie split up. Their breakup was announced on Jan. 10, 2014, which was three and a half years after the couple married.

A statement following their split-up said: "Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie have mutually decided to an amicable separation. They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time."

Duff then opened up to E! News saying that regardless of the separation, Duff wasn't sure what their future looked like.

"We're constantly seen together and people are like, 'What are they doing? Are they back together? Are they not?' We're really good friends and we have so much respect for each other and obviously Luca is our No. 1 priority," Duff said.

In an interview with Health Duff admitted that the two still love each other.

"We have a two-year-old together. We love each other. Obviously it wasn't a rash decision that we made. We really are just trying to figure out how we are the most happy -- whether together or apart -- and we're doing it as lovingly as possible," Duff said.

It's clear that even one year after claiming they were separated, they never truly will be as they keep Luca as the center of their relationship.
