After Jennifer Lawrence dissed E!'s Fashion Police, Joan Rivers fired back with a series of tweets.

"It's funny how Jennifer Lawrence loved @E_FashionPolice during Awards Season when we were complimenting her every single week," she wrote. "But now that she has a movie to promote, suddenly we're picking on all those poor, helpless actors."

The Fashion Police host then gave her own explanation as to why Lawrence tripped right before receiving her Oscar for Best Actress this year.

"WAIT! It just dawned on me why Jennifer Lawrence fell on her way up to the stage to get her Oscar. She tripped over her own arrogance," Rivers wrote.

Rivers' comments come after Lawrence criticized the show during her recent Yahoo Q&A with Marissa Mayer.

"There are shows like the Fashion Police and things like that, that are showing this generation of young people to judge people based on things," Lawrence said. "They put values on all the things that are wrong, and that it's ok to point at people and call them ugly and call them fat."

Many Twitter users were on Lawrence's side and told Rivers that she will never win an "internet war" with the 23-year-old Hunger Games actress.

Lawrence often speaks out about Hollywood's obsession with skinny. She recently opened up about how hurt she felt after she was criticized for her weight when she was younger.

"I was young. It was just the kind of s--t that actresses have to go through," she told U.K.'s Harper's Bazaar in the November 2013 issue. "Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn't lose a certain amount of weight."
