Raven Symone Comes Out: Break Up With Rumored Girlfriend AzMarie Livingston? Attends Gay Rights Event Solo
Months after she hinted she was a lesbian, Raven Symone made a rare public appearance at an event that supports one of the largest charities for the LGBT community, the Outfest Legacy Awards, held in Los Angeles, Calif. on Tuesday.
The event was thrown to honor filmmaker Lee Daniels who topped OUT Magazine's OUT 100 list. The reception was held at the home of Mervyn Warren, a Grammy Award-winning music composer.
There, Daniels and Louis XIII de Rémy Martin presented a check for $10,000 to UCLA Legacy Project. The non-profit preserves the media images of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, or LGBT, community.
Symone, however, attended the event solo, without rumored girlfriend AzMarie Livingston.
The 27-year-old is believed to have come out on Aug. 2, after she thanked the government's stance on gay marriage. She referred to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act in June. The former Cosby Show star wrote on Twitter, "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you."
National Enquirer also reported in May 2012 that the star is dating Livingston, a previous contestant on Britain's Top Model. A family insider told the newspaper that Livingston had moved into Symone's Manhattan home in the summer of 2012 despite disapproval from the actress' family.
The pair stepped out together for the first time ever at Gay Pride in Atlanta during Labor Day weekend. Theybf.com reported that the pair was holding hands and canoodling at the event thrown by rapper Ludacris at Compound on Aug. 31. Click here for photos.
Last month, MediaTakeout also reported that Symone debunked the claim that she is dating Livingston in a tweet that has since been deleted.
"ME DATING A GIRL: EVEN THO I ADORE MY GAY AND LESBIAN COMMUNITY!!!!!! I HANG AND CHILL WITH THEM, AND ADMIRE THEIR FIERCE-NESS. AND LEARN FROM THEM EVERYDAY. I HAVE THIS TO SAY... 1) ITS FALSE THAT IM DATING A GIRL RIGHT NOW," she reportedly wrote on Twitter.
