Beyonce Banned From Egypt Pyramids? '1+1' Singer Allegedly Not Allowed Back Since 2009
End of Time singer Beyonce Knowles won't be visiting the iconic pyramids in Egypt anytime soon as the country's former head of antiquities revealed she was banned back in 2009.
During an interview with The Independent published Wednesday, Zahi Hawass said he banned the singer after she showed up late for her visit during her I Am... Tour.
"Most people I take on tours are very nice and we become friends. But this lady...She said she would come at 3pm but she came late. I said, 'You have to say I'm sorry I'm late.' But she didn't open her mouth," Hawass said. He's considered a gatekeeper for the area.
But it doesn't end there. Hawass claimed that one of the Countdown singer insulted him.
"My photographer started to shoot and [her photographer] said 'No, stop! I'm the one who says yes or no, not you!"
Hawass then said that type of insult is just as bad as physically hitting him and told Knowles and her crew they weren't allowed to go on the tour.
Hawass also reportedly said, "[Beyonce] is a stupid person and she doesn't understand a thing and she doesn't want to understand."
While Beyonce has kept quiet about the allegations, her rep told E! News there is no truth behind it Wednesday.
"This never happened. The last time she was in Egypt was on tour in 2009. Nothing like this happened. Lies and more lies," they claimed.
