'X Factor' Judge Demi Lovato Won't Return For Season 4? Wants To Focus On Her Music, Says Source
Demi Lovato, who served as a judge for two seasons on X Factor, might be leaving the show for good.
"She plans to spend next year completely focused on her music," a source told People in a Wednesday report. "She had a great run and a good time."
According to the insider, the competition show's grueling schedule has made it difficult for the 21-year-old to focus on her music career.
The former Disney star will embark on her first headline arena tour in February along with X Factor alums Cher Lloyd, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony. But, before then, the star has said she wants to take a small break.
"I will take the month of January completely off," she told reporters in November. "I want to vacation. I want to watch crime shows on my DVR on my couch... I need to do some exercising and I don't really have time to do it. I love horseback riding and never get to do that stuff, but January is my time to do all of that."
Her fellow judge, Simon Cowell, confirmed that season 4 will probably be happening. However, a few changes will be included if it does come back.
"I think the show will be coming back next year," Cowell recently told Billboard. "As to my role on it, I might have a different kind of role, we haven't discussed that yet."
The judge also revealed that he'd like the show to air only once a week instead of twice.
"I won't say which night but I think it's a better night for us and if we get it, that would be amazing," he said. "When the shows are popular, the networks want to make them longer and that's not necessarily a good thing."
