Ben Kingsley Movies: The Most Memorable Films Of The Now 70-Year-Old Actor, Including 'Ender's Game,' 'Schindler's List' & More
British Oscar winner Ben Kingsley turned 70 on Dec. 31.
In honor of his seventh decade, below are five of his most memorable films:
1. Gandhi
Gandhi was a man who changed the world with a philosophy that fought against violence, which Kingsley displayed thoroughly. The actor earned himself the Oscar for Best Actor while the film also won for Best Director and Best Picture.
2. Schindler's List
One of the most praised and controversial films of all time, Kingsley played Itzhak Stern, a Jewish man who worked and became friends with Oskar Schindler. Kingsley starred alongside Liam Neeson and Ralph Feinnes. The film won seven Oscars, including Best Film Editing, Best Director and Best Picture.
3. Sexy Beast
Kingsley won the Critics Choice Award and was nominated for an Oscar for the role as Don Logan, a sociopath involved in a bank heist. The actor's portrayal of Don Logan earned him several other award nominations, including the Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and Chicago Film Critics Association Award.
4. Hugo
Kingsley portrayed Georges Melies, the French illusionist and filmmaker. Set in 1930s Paris, the film is about an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station and is engrossed in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton.
5. Ender's Game
Kingsley took on the role of Mazer Rackham, the hero who trains Ender and sacrifices himself. Based on the critically acclaimed novel, this film hit theaters 28 years after the book was published.
