Sarah Hyland On Carly Rae Jepsen As 'Cinderella': Actress 'Hesitant' That 'Call Me Maybe' Singer Will Be Good?
Sarah Hyland seems to not be too thrilled with Carly Rae Jepsen donning the role of Cinderella on Broadway.
On Dec. 30th, the Modern Family star tweeted her opinion on Jepsen's new gig.
"Today's a meltdown day. Carly Rae Jepsen is going to play Cinderella??? On Broadway??? NOT OK WITH THIS. Tell me it's going to be OK @LauraOsnes."
Osnes was the original actress for Cinderella; Jepsen will be her replacement for twelve weeks, starting February 4th.
Hyland then wrote "Hoping she will be amazing. I'm hesitant though..." Later, she posted another tweet, admitting that she has nothing against Jepsen. "Too avoid anyone assuming things? My previous tweets do not mean that I'm not a Carly Rae Jepsen fan. The end."
It was announced in late December that Jepsen would be taking on the leading role in the Rodger's and Hammerstein musical.
In a statement to the press, Jepsen said "Broadway has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented cast to tell this classic tale. These last few years have been a real fairy tale come to life for me so I feel especially blessed to play this part and be reminded that you must never stop dreaming!"
Hyland posted more tweets during New Year's, which she had spent with her good friend Taylor Swift. "Happy New Year's everyone!" Hyland tweeted. "Have fun but most importantly STAY SAFE! Uber was made for a reason folks ;)."
Hyland and Swift also posted several Instagram photos.
