Ben Affleck might be taking over the role as Batman for multiple movies, according to a new report.

Affleck has allegedly been tapped to play Batman in his own solo franchise after his debut in Man of Steel 2 a.k.a. Batman vs. Superman. He may be appearing in five new films as Batman, according to Yahoo UK.

"I don't think he'll play Batman forever (pun kinda intended)," said Bill 'Jet' Ramey, a writer for Batman-on-Film.com. "If I had to guess, I'd say five: BvS, three solo Batman films, and another DC team-up movie."

This would be the third Batman solo franchise since the character major film debut in 1989's Batman. The first franchise spanned 1989-1998, which included Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney playing the title role. Christian Bale took over in a reboot of the franchise for Batman Begins in 2005 and he reprised the role for 2008's The Dark Knight and 2012's The Dark Knight Rises.

As for the D.C. team-up movie, a Justice League movie seems like a logical next step for the company after the success of Marvel's The Avengers. Since they are introducing Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in Man of Steel 2, it's only a matter of time before she, Batman and Superman (Henry Cavill) team up with Green Lantern, the Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter to form the Justice League.

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters on July 17, 2015.
