In the highly anticipated Man of Steel 2, Wonder Woman's (Gal Gadot) origin story might be changed significantly from the comics.

According to new estimations from the reputable Batman-on-Film, Wonder Woman might be a descendant of ancient Kryptonians in Man of Steel 2, a change from her Hellenic roots in the comic books.

Batman-on-Film proprietor Jett Ramey speculates that the 'Amazons' of this cinematic DCU will be descendants of those 'ancient Kryptonians' who attempted to set up Kryptonian outposts throughout spacedom thousands and thousands of years ago."

He also says that Wonder Woman could be "powered-down" in relation to Superman (Henry Cavill) as an Amazonian woman who will have evolved and adapted with her tribe.

As for the size of the role, Ramey thinks that it will be on par with Black Widow's (Scarlett Johansson) introduction in Iron Man 2.

"I believe that it's a cameo-plus type of role that will (hopefully) serve as a springboard to a solo Wonder Woman movie," he adds.

Though Wonder Woman's origin story changing is bound to anger some fans of the iconic superhero, Ramey acknowledged on Twitter that his comments are speculation, not truth.

"For the record, take on #WonderWoman's origin was pure SPECULATION -- as I said as much in the mailbag. Anyone saying otherwise is wrong," he tweeted.

The role of Wonder Woman in Man of Steel 2 has already caused a bit of controversy, as some fans believe that Gadot is too small to play the muscular superhero.

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters on July 17, 2015.
