Demi Lovato People's Choice Awards 2014: 'Neon Lights' Singer Addresses 'Mean' Fans On Twitter Who Criticized Her For Not Attending
Demi Lovato may have won two honors at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, but some of her Twitter followers were angry she wasn't present.
"Damn... Just hopped online to check twitter and some "fans" are being really mean :(," Lovato tweeted during the award show.
She then explained her reason for not attending and said, "As I have stated before, I'm taking as much time off this month as possible."
The singer also added: "I haven't taken a substantial amount of time off in a long time and now I am. Thank you for those who voted and understand why I am away."

At the event, the former X Factor judge won the awards for "Favorite Music Fan Following" and "Favorite Female Artist," which were voted on by the public.
"There are 'fans' who say they support me, then they hate on me, my personal life and my loved ones....," she tweeted. "And then there are my LOVATICS!!! THEY are the BEST fans an artist could ever ask for.... I LOVE YOU!!!"
Lovato, who will headline her first tour in February, also had a few words to say to her haters in December 2013.
"Haters can only bother you if you aren't doing anything to prove them wrong," she wrote. "I can't sing? I'm singing on the treadmill and practicing my ass off. You think I'm fat? I'm already in the gym!!!!! You think I'm irrelevant? WATCH THA F*** OUT."
