Oscars Nominees 2014 List: Academy Awards Nominations For 'American Hustle,' 'The Wolf of Wall Street' & '12 Years A Slave'
The 2014 Oscar nominees were announced Thursday, Jan. 16, and while some nominees were expected, a few surprises and snubs did happen.
Some notable exclusions from this year's list include Spike Jonze for direction in Her; Tom Hanks in Captain Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix in Her for Best Actor; Emma Thompson in Saving Mr. Banks for Best Actress; Oprah Winfrey in Lee Daniels' The Butler for Supporting Actress; and Blue is the Warmest Color for Foreign Language Film.
The biggest surprise nomination was Jonah Hill for The Wolf of Wall Street as a Supporting Actor. He was previously shut out of every other race.
