The anticipated iPhone 6 may have a much bigger screen, according to a new report.

David Hsieh at DisplaySearch, a display industry analysis firm, predicted that the new Apple model may offer two bigger options - a 4.7-inch model with 1600×900 resolution as well as a 5.5-inch screen with 1920×1080 resolution.

"Of course, not all of the panels listed here will go into mass production, as panel maker strategies can change," Hsieh wrote in the Monday report. "But there will be other new models not included here. With so many new panel models launched in 2014, it will be a year for display innovation."

His predictions would be a big improvement from the current iPhone 5s, which has a 4-inch display with 1136-by-640-pixel resolution and 326 PPI.

Additionally, the current iPhone display is significantly smaller in comparison to other phones. For example, the Motorola Moto X has a 4.7-inch display while both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Google Nexus 5 have 5-inch screens.

Released in September 2013, the Galaxy Note 3 even has a 5.7-inch screen.

Many Twitter users are fond of the idea of a much larger screen for the iPhone 6.

"I wonder what the IPhone 6 will be like, hope it has a bigger screen," wrote one user.

Others even said that the larger screen is "long overdue" for the company.

The iPhone 6 is expected for release sometime this year.
