Amanda Bynes Goes Back To School: Former Actress Reportedly Doing Well & 'Enrolled Part-Time For The Winter Quarter' In Merchandise Development?
Amanda Bynes is back to school and finished her first day at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Orange County on Tuesday, Jan. 14, a source told E! News.
The retired actress appears to be getting along well with other students.
"She was very nice, friendly and chatting with her classmates," the source said, adding that Bynes was "originally going to be a fashion design major but has now decided to pursue merchandise product development. She is enrolled part-time for the winter quarter."
Amanda Bynes' Mental Health Update
It was reported that Bynes went on a tour of FIDM last December and enrolled earlier this month.
After a hectic year of psychiatric help, allegedly throwing a bong out of her window and calling people "ugly" via Twitter, the 27-year-old was released from a psychiatric hold to the care of her parents in December 2013. She was recently seen walking a dog with her parents and then was seen going for a walk by herself. The Hairspray star also went to Disneyland with her parents in December and was photographed on one of the rides about a week after leaving psychiatric hold.
During that time, Bynes' attorney said she was "doing very well and reestablishing a close and loving relationship with her family."
In a September 2012 interview, Bynes told People she wanted to do a fashion line. The actress announced that she would be retiring from acting via Twitter in June 2010. She hasn't posted on Twitter since July 2013.
