Johnny Depp, Amber Heard Engaged: Is Ex-Girlfriend Vanessa Paradis Angry?
After Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's engagement was confirmed, rumors started that his ex wasn't happy with the news.
Yet, despite the reports, Vanessa Paradis reportedly is happy for the couple.
"Vanessa wished him happiness," a friend of Paradis told Us Weekly. "No drama."
Depp and Paradis were together for 14 years and have two children together - Lily-Rose, 14, and John, 11. The two split in 2012. Shortly after their breakup, Depp began dating his The Rum Diary costar that same year.
Heard was first spotted with a diamond rock on her ring finger as she was leaving Ago restaurant in Los Angeles on Jan. 13. View the ring here.
Other photos showed Heard covering her left hand in what appears to be an attempt to hide the ring.
"The proposal happened a couple of months ago," a friend of Heard's told the magazine. "She just hasn't been wearing the ring."
However, the actress, who previously had a four-year relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree, reportedly didn't say yes right away. She wanted to make sure she made the right choice before accepting the ring from Depp, according to other sources.
"It happened on Christmas Eve," a source close to the family told Celebuzz. "Amber really took her time to make up her mind."
The source explained that Heard turned Depp down before she accepted the proposal and added, "So she waited and was thinking about it for a long time."
