2014 Grammys Host LL Cool J Defends Justin Bieber After Arrest 'Cut The Guy Some Slack' Talks Hosting Award Show [VIDEO]
Rapper LL Cool J is set to host the Grammys Sunday night and while dishing on what viewers can expect with Us Weekly, he took a little time to defend Justin Bieber.
"At the end of the day, I mean, he's 19 years old. So, you gotta cut the guy some slack you know, he's not like a 35-year-old with penny loafers and khakis on and you know, dropping his kids off at school and drag racing n a Lambo," the Around the Way Girl rapper told the magazine at a pre-Grammy dinner Saturday. "That would be a little different! But I think we just gotta remember what we were doing at 19."
He didn't stop there. He confessed that he believes Bieber won't let something like that happen again. Bieber was arrested for drag racing early Thursday morning in Miami Beach. He was also charged with a DUI, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest without violence.
LL Cool J said, "Just be merciful, and hopefully he'll learn from his mistakes. I am not one to really pounce people. I'm all for justice, don't get me wrong, but I am not one to puce on people."
The rapper also gushed about hosting the Grammy Awards for the third year in a row.
"Just being a part of it is great. I mean, winning is always going to be the best. I mean, nothing tops winning! But it's always fun being involved and it's fun hosting. This is a good time."
