On Sunday night, the WWE aired its 2014 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, which was started its build to Wrestlemania XXX.

In the 30-man over-the-top rope event, it was Batista who emerged as the victor. The battle for a shot at the WWE heavyweight championship came down to three men; Batista, Sheamus and Roman Reigns. It was soon "The Animal" and The Shield member as the final two, with the former prevailing as the ultimate winner.

In a matchup that was magnified by the extremely brief alliance of Daniel Bryan to The Wyatt Family, it was the goat-faced Superstar who came up short against Bray Wyatt, who got revenge on Bryan's recent betrayal. However, you wouldn't be able to tell it do to the crowd's continuous pops for Bryan by way of its "Yes" chants.

After punishing The Big Show before the bell even rang, it was "The Beast" Brock Lesnar who delivered an F5 to the largest athlete in the world. After the match ended, he continued to assault Show with chair shots.

After using each other's finishers, it was eventually "The Viper" Randy Orton that emerged victorious to retain his Undisputed Heavyweight strap against John Cena after The Wyatts interfered.

During the pre-show, the New Age Outlaws went on to capture the WWE tag team championships for the sixth time in their illustrious careers.

Tonight's Monday Night Raw should be quite interesting as the company continues to build towards the grandest stage of them all. The program will air on the USA network at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
