Creflo Dollar Arrested: Megachurch Pastor Attacked Daughter and Allegedly Choked Her
Megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar Jr. has been arrested for attacking his daughter. The founder and senior pastor of World Changers Church International has been arrested after attacking his 15-year-old daughter in Atlanta on Friday.
He may be charged with simple battery and cruelty to children. The police received a call from his daughter who accused her father of attacking her. He was arrested and taken to Fayette County Jail at 2 a.m. His bond is reportedly set at $5,000.
The father and daughter reportedly argued about whether she could attend a party. In the police report, the megachurch pastor reportedly choked his daughter, punched her and hit her with a shoe. She reportedly had a scratch on her neck, which she blamed her dad for.
As he was leaving jail, Dollar reportedly said: "I just love my kid. Love 'em. Same problem every parent's going through," according to WSBTV.com
Creflo's church has a congregation of nearly 30,000 members. His services are broadcast across the country every week.
According to Creflo Dollar Ministries website, Dollar received the vision for World Changers Ministries Christian Center in 1986. He held the church's first worship service in the cafeteria of Kathleen Mitchell Elementary School in College Park, with only eight people in attendance.
"Over the years, the ministry grew rapidly, and was later renamed World Changers Church International. The congregation moved from the cafeteria to a modest-sized chapel, later adding a weekly radio broadcast and four services each Sunday. On December 24, 1995, WCCI moved into its present location-the 8,500-seat sanctuary known as the World Dome. At a cost of nearly $18 million, the World Dome was built without any bank financing. The construction of the World Dome is a testament to the miracle-working power of God, and remains a model of debt-freedom that ministries all over the world emulate."
