2014 Olympic Hockey Schedule: Men's Preliminary Rounds To Soon Kick Off At Sochi Winter Games
With the Winter Olympics set to begin in just a few days, fans of some of the more popular sporting events are clamoring for information about when they can watch the action.
One of the most popular sports during the games is hockey, and the men's preliminary rounds are scheduled to kick off on Feb. 12.
The men's games are scheduled to begin with two Group C games between The Czech Republic and Sweden, as well as Latvia and Switzerland at 9 p.m. Group A and B games kick-off the following day with Finland and Austria shceduled to play first, at 12 p.m., followed by Russia vs. Slovenia and United States vs. Slovakia at 4:30, with Canada and Norway closing the first preliminary rounds at 9 p.m.
Preliminaries will continue until Feb. 18, which will see the beginning of the Men's Play-Offs Qualifications at 12 p.m., with the Quarterfinals scheduled for the next day.
Winter Olympics 2014 Full Schedule of Events
The medal award winning rounds will begin Saturday, Feb. 22 with the Bronze medal game at 7 p.m., with the gold medal match scheduled for 4 p.m. on Feb. 23, just before the closing cermonies begin.
Women's hockey will kick off the games however, with events set to begin as soon as Saturday, Feb. 8 with the preliminary rounds.
Team U.S.A. will start things off by facing Finland, while Canada and Switzerland are scheduled to begin playing at 5 p.m. Other preliminary matches will take place between Sweden, Japan, Russia and Germany. The Women's Playoff Quarterfinals are scheduled for 12 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 15, followed by the medal award winning rounds on Feb. 20.
The Bronze medal game will take place at 4 p.m., with the gold medal game taking place at 9 p.m.
