'Love & Hip Hop' Atlanta Fight: Benzino Says Incident Between Karlie Redd & Fiance Althea Hart Was 'Sensationalized'
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta cast member Benzino is speaking out, claiming that reports were overblown about a huge brawl during a recent filming of the VH1 reality show.
In an interview Friday, Benzino, whose real name is Raymond Scott, said that the incident that started between his former girlfriend Karlie Redd and his fianceé Althea Hart was not a major deal.
The fight happened during the opening of Benzino and Stevie J's new nightclub in downtown Atlanta.
TMZ reported last week that the fight allegedly started after Stevie J's wife, Joseline Hernandez walked into the restaurant with a girlfriend. Sources said the an argument led to a fist fight. Karlie Redd was allegedly knocked out and several others suffered bloody injuries. In the mix of it all, Momma Dee was also hit in her face with a bottle.
But Benzino said that's not how it went down.
"Everything was sensationalized," Benzino said. "There were no bottles thrown, no fists were thrown, no guns were pulled out."
Atlanta Police Sgt. Greg Lyon said there were no arrests or criminal acts made from the argument.
In a statement about the incident, Redd said media outlets were reporting "misinformation."
Though most of the cast has been quiet about the fight, most likely due to non-disclosure contracts, Hernandez sent out a subliminal tweet about what went down.
"Bay @hitmansteviej them hoes was tripping last night @sleazyandzinos everybody can't be in the mix," Hernandez tweeted. Meanwhile, Hernandez uploaded several pictures of the event to her Instagram.
