The New York Yankees will welcome their newest signee Masahiro Tanaka with a press conference held at the Legends Club at the Stadium on Tuesday.

Texas Rangers' Yu Darvish Considered "Bigger'" & "Stronger" Than Tanaka?

The 25-year-old baseball star received a seven-year deal for $155 million. The team also paid a $20 million posting fee to his Japanese team, the Rakuten Golden Eagles, which he played on from 2007 to 2013.

The pitcher flew to New York in lavish style. He reportedly spent $195,000 for a one-way trip with a Japan Airlines Dreamliner jet on Sunday, according to the New York Post. He flew with his pop-star wife, Mai Satoda, his toy poodle Haru and two of his friends.

"It's a [chartered] private jet. It's not something the Yankees have prepared," Tanaka told reporters before he boarded the plane at Tokyo's Narita Airport.

His new teammates are excited for his arrival, including shortstop Derek Jeter, who has played on the Yankees for 19 seasons.

"Andruw (Jones) played with him over in Japan. I've heard that he was good," Derek Jeter told The New York Daily News on Friday. "I think everyone is curious. Everything they say about him has been all positive, so anytime you add pitching, it's going to help us out."

Tanaka will also get more acquainted with the Yankees pitchers and catchers on Feb. 14 since they are expected to report to camp in Tampa, Fla.

The press conference airs live at 1:00 p.m. on YES, the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network.

The team's general manager Brian Cashman, manager Joe Girardi, team president Randy Levine, and managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner will also be in attendance for the conference.
