The trailer for Angelina Jolie's upcoming docudrama, Unbroken, which highlights the Olympian Louis Zamperini's extraordinary struggle, was revealed on Feb. 15.

The Coen brothers (Inside Llewyn Davis, Fargo) have scripted the film, which follows the eventful life of Olympic athlete Zamperini. The movie has been adapted from Laura Hillenbrand's book, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption, about Zamperini.

Zamperini was an Olympic distance runner and a World War II prisoner of war survivor. Tom Brokaw is the narrator of the trailer which is also intercepted by Zamperini's dialogue. The clip highlights Zamperini's childhood, -- his fast feet always helped him escape the law for petty crimes -- surviving a plane crash, lasting it out for 47 days on a raft and his time at a Japanese prisoner of war camp.

In the clip, the 97-year-old Zamperini corresponds his perseverance as an athlete and his Olympics win with his experience at war, emphasizing on the will to survive.

"Try again and again till you overcome...in the war too, the determination to come out first, to come out alive," he says.

This is Jolie's second movie as a director following 2011′s In the Land of Blood and Honey, which aired during NBC's coverage of the Winter Games.

The movie also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Finn Wittrock, Garrett Hedlund, John Magaro, Alex Russell and Japanese actor Miyavi.

Jolie also stars in Maleficent, which is scheduled to release in May 2014. The film is essentially a retelling of Sleeping Beauty from the perspective of the antagonist, Maleficent. Jolie plays the female villain who casts a curse on the king's daughter Aurora, who is portrayed by Fanning. In this take on the fairytale, some empathy is shown toward Maleficent as she is shown as a complex character who had reason to seek vengeance and was not always evil.

Unbroken hits theaters on Christmas day.
