To the excitement of the hockey fans around the world, the quarterfinals and qualification rounds are upon them at the 2014 Winter Olympics tournament in Sochi, as the next set of games will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

In the qualification matchups, there will be four matchups happening on the ice.

Switzerland will be squaring off against the likes of Latvia. The Swiss side lost to Latvia 1-0, and then defeated them 1-0 in two other matches. The winner of the upcoming game will go on to face Canada.

The Russians will take on Norway. Russia fell short to U.S.A in overtime, and beat Slovakia. They are the highest seeded team in the qualification round that'll be taking the ice on Tuesday. The competition may not exactly be its stiffest from Norway, as the latter is just one of two teams that has yet to net a point throughout pool competition.

Austria will go up against Slovenia. The Slovenians are surely concerned for the health of Anze Kopitar after his early initial exit, but he's seemingly ready to take the ice once again in the country's first hockey tournament. The winner will take on Sweden.

Czech Republic will square off against Slovakia. Both of the teams didn't start to mesh until later on in pool play. Slovakia was defeated by Russia while Czech Republic lost to Switzerland. However, Slovakia must get past the solid goaltending of Ondrej Pavelec if it stands a chance against the Czech side.
