Evelyn Lozada spoke candidly about one of the hardest years in her life and finding new love.

"I had the worst 2012, I thought my life was over," she told Life & Style in a new interview.

The former Basketball Wives star was referring to the year her then-husband, Chad Ochocinco, was charged with domestic battery after he headbutted her during an argument. The NFL star served seven days in prison for the incident.

The same year, Lozada's brother-in-law passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Yet, despite her publicized breakup with Ochocinco, Lozada said she wouldn't change a thing.

"I would say my broken bridge led me to happiness," she said. "If I had to do it again, I would because I truly feel complete right now in my life and I wouldn't change it for anything."

The 38-year-old is now engaged to Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford and the two are expecting their first child together - a baby boy. The reality star, who already has 20-year-old daughter named Shaniece, gushed about her beau.

"He came into my life at a perfect time. Everything that happened makes me appreciate him 1,000 times more and he also makes me a better person," she said.
