Terrell Owens, Wife Rachel Snider Divorce Update: He Files Papers on Valentines Day & Wants Her to Pay Legal Fees
Terrell Owens has officially filed for divorce from Rachel Snider, weeks after she filed.
According to TMZ, the former NFL player filed on Valentines Day, Feb. 14, seeking to end their short marriage that lasted from Jan. 23 to Jan. 26.
In documents filed in L.A. Superior Court, Owens claims that the couple has no community property, although Snider previously said he only married her to get a loan on a $2 million home in Sherman Oaks, CA.
Owens filed the divorce papers "in pro per," meaning that he is acting as his own lawyer. He has also requested Snider to pay his legal fees.
"How nice of him to run to the courthouse when I was in the hospital - and on Valentine's Day no less. If money isn't an issue - why doesn't he have an attorney?" Snider told TMZ Sports.
The marriage was the first for Owens, although he has four kids from previous relationships. Snider already has one child.
"I fell in love ... and now I feel betrayed and heartbroken," Snider reportedly said. "I really valued his love and friendship for 5 years. Out of the love in my heart, I tried to help him. We had a secret relationship for 5 years and I married him for love."
Meanwhile, Owens just caught a serious financial break on child support if he visits his child once a month.
He recently cut a deal with Melanie Smith, one of four of his baby mamas that requires him to visit his daughter for 6 hours. If he flies to Georgia to spend time with her, Smith has agreed to take up to $250 off his child support payments.
