As the WWE continues to gear up for its top event, Wrestlemania XXX, the company is also in the midst of dealing with the sudden departure of one of its top superstars, CM Punk.
Punk Training In Mixed Martial Arts?
The superb in-ring worker and mic master reportedly left the company after January's Royal Rumble event due to creative differences he had with the top brass.
However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio on March 2, the self-proclaimed "Best In The World" could very well be returning on the March 3 edition of Raw, which will be airing live in his hometown of Chicago.
Although Dave Meltzer of the respective radio show admitted he wasn't 100 percent certain that Punk would be at the event, he did say that "one of the biggest stars in the industry" said that he's positive of the grappler showing up.
As the story goes, Punk reportedly informed WWE chairman Vince McMahon that he was "going home" on the eve of the Raw that followed the Royal Rumble event. By that Wednesday, the company halted advertisement of Punk for any of its future events.
McMahon finally acknowledged the matter on Feb. 20 while participating in a quarterly conference with investors of the company, saying "He's taking a sabbatical, let's just put it that way."
