The Collective Powered by VEVO, is a weekly series that will promote and discuss the latest trendsetters in Latino culture, with some of the biggest tastemakers in the industry. Every Thursday at 8 p.m., hosts Nina Terrero and Mike Catherwood will give new talent a chance to be exposed to VEVO's millions of viewers worldwide.
According to the show's website, the two-hour weekly episodes will feature "DJs, musicians and celebrities who will share their personal music picks of the week and their unique perspective of what's trending in music, fashion, live events, viral videos, and more."

Nina Terrero, a correspondent for Entertainment Weekly and one of pop culture's leading Latina voices, believes the show will be a standout amongst the various options of online TV.
"The show is unique in representing millennial latinos at cusp on what's trending across pop culture," she told Enstars. "Our job isn't to define what Latinos want, we reflect what the culture is interested in."
Her co-host Mike Catherwood, one of biggest voices at L.A. radio powerhouse KROQ, explained, "I want to know, as a consumer myself, the next wave of genius Latino artists. VEVO makes that a reality." He added, "Because the show is sponsored by VEVO, The Collective is able to explore non-traditional, commercial artists in the Latin community."
While the new program will feature the hottest up-and-coming talent, the show is also the brainchild of one of the most popular entertainers in the world, Jennifer Lopez. She and her sister, Lynda Lopez, helped develop the new project by keeping in mind what they felt the Latino community is missing.
Lynda Lopez has had a strong career in journalism for years. For Terrero, the opportunity to work with her has been one of the greatest things about her new gig.
"We've been given the greatest gift to have her sister, Lynda, by our side very step of the way- from wardrobe to scripts," she explained. "Her level of creativity goes above and beyond anyone I've ever worked with. I'm so thankful for her guidance."
Terrero also reflected on how Jennifer inspired her as a child, "When I was growing up not too far from the Bronx, in New Jersey, J.Lo was one of the few Latinas who I could see myself in."
She continued, "She's been able to make a name for herself across different aspects of entertainment, and she represents everything that's good about Latino achievement in America. To have her is a real blessing."
"She is the icon of Latino Americans who want to make it in the entertainment industry," Catherwood added. "In the Latino community of entertainers, there is absolutely no one you can look up to more than Jennifer Lopez."
Jennifer Lopez, who has a long list of accomplishments in television, music, and film, has had a hand in some of the Latino communities' most influential projects. Her show Q'viva! The Chosen, brought in more than 30 million viewers. In addition, her groundbreaking ABC Family show, The Fosters, sparked dialogue across the nation about raising children in LGBT households, as the main plot involves a lesbian couple raising children together. Now, producers are hoping to see similar success with The Collective.
